Event description

Description

How to reduce and eliminate unnecessary administrative and regulatory burdens in order to pave the way for commercial deployment of hydrogen technologies

Complying with legal and administrative requirements when deploying hydrogen technologies can be cumbersome and time-consuming. In response to these difficulties, the HyLAW project has analysed rules, obligations and legislative provisions covering more than 60 different administrative processes in 18 European countries.

The HyLAW EU Workshop will tackle some of the most pressing legal and regulatory barriers associated with the deployment of hydrogen technologies in the EU.

With a focus on EU level policy and legislation, the workshop will present the project’s conclusions on what causes the existence of these barriers and will propose practical solutions to overcome them.

Agenda

  • Welcome and Registration

  • Introduction: The contribution of the HyLaw project

  • Part I: Production and storage of Hydrogen – Does EU legislation create unintentional barriers?

  • Part II: Permitting of Hydrogen Refuelling Stations – Can we really expect to build a sizeable network of Hydrogen Refuelling Stations in todays’ regulatory environment?

  • Part III: Gas Grid Issues: Can we use the gas grid to realise sectoral integration?

Please note that the registrations will close on 04.12.2018 at 12:00 (CET).

The HyLAW project has received funding from the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen 2 Joint Undertaking under grant agreement No 737977.
This Joint Undertaking receives support from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, Hydrogen Europe and Hydrogen Europe Research.
