Harmony Wellness Group is a group of talented massage therapy professionals offering a variety of fun and interesting Continuing Education classes to enhance your practice as well as enrich your life. These will also meet your state license and NCBTMB renewal requirements (all courses are NCBTMB approved). Not a massge therapist, no problem! We offer some courses for anyone who wants to learn more about health and wellness. Please note that courses are priced individually. Space is limited!

Unearth the different components to western herbalism in this novice course. A definition of herbal medicine and the myriad ways plants can be used will be introduced. Topics to be covered: tinctures, teas, poultices, essential oils, homeopathy, flower essences and more! Become familiar with the language of herbalism as well as herbal actions; tonic, adaptogen, sialogogue, anti-viral, demulcent, etc. By the end of this course you will have a firm grasp of what constitutes Herbal Medicine and how to begin to implement it in your everyday life.

This introductory course will give you a basic foundation in Aromatherapy. Learn what aromatherapy is and how it can affect the body both inside and out. Delve into the characteristics of essential oils; antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, sedative, etc. Different methods and doses will be discussed as well as safety concerns referencing current research in the field. By the end of the course you will walk away with a solid understanding of what essential oils are and how to begin using them both in your practice and your everyday life.

Make your treatments memorable and improve client results by learning how to incorporate cupping into your massage. We will spend the day exploring and practicing cupping applications for various client complaints. We will also discuss how you can promote the benefits & effects of massage cupping to increase your client bookings for this one of a kind massage! Cups will be provided for practice during the class at no extra charge. Cups are also available for purchase for $30, you can order when you register for the class. Please bring a massage table, sheets and lubricant.

This is an introduction to ear reflex points for massage therapists. In this course we will define the anatomy of the ear, explore the history and science behind Auricular Acupressure and identify the Master Points in the ear. We will discuss the functionality of the Master Points and application to client's care. Experience the power of Auricular Acupressure through hands on practice in this class. The tools needed to identify and mark the points you will be learning will be provided in the class.

Learn to get a better feel for your client's needs through better listening skills and observing both verbal and non-verbal cues. This interactive course will teach you how to establish a solid rapport that will lead to a proper ethical therapeutic relationship. We will identify the different learning modalities which will help therapists utilize appropriate verbiage to communicate more effectively with clients. Learn how to better assess body language and practice mirroring and matching techniques.

11, 1 hour CE classes; Instructor: Nathan Nordstrom, LMT, BCTMB
This class is arranged to look in-depth into each portion of the body. It goes through each joint's standard movements and the top dysfunctions regularly seen in the area. We then give several tools and techniques to work with the soft tissue to create pain free movement. Each 1 hour class includes, Introduction to the structure (Anatomy) and action (Physiology) of the body part. Then we discuss Structural dysfunction (Pathology) We finish the class with working on the structure (Therapy). This class is 70% hands on with 30% lecture. It has 50 minute classes with a 10 minute break set before the start of each hour. Please bring a massage table, sheets and lubricant. The 11 classes are:
