UPDATE 5/20 - Difficult weather predicted - but the tour will go on!
- On Sat. & Sun., with 90 degree heat, we will avoid the sun by stopping in shady areas along the route.
- On Sun. & Mon., with the possibility of rain, we will still run the tour in light rain, stopping in sheltered places along the route. We will cancel for a downpour- check here for updates.
Hear the stories of the people and businesses of this nondescript street who helped provide the initiative and energy to enable a small village grow into a prosperous town.
Seminary helped launch civic institutions including the fire company, library, and theater - and helped established a wide variety of small businesses including livery and auto repair, department stores, grocery stores, bakers, butchers, barbers, jewelers, plumbers, and electricians.
The tour will continue two more blocks down East Broad and South Greenwood, ending at the Hopewell Gazebo Park. These blocks illustrate the institutions that helped to establish the town, including the hotel, library, church, bank, pharmacy, community hall, school, Borough hall, firehouse, and post office.
