Tables, table cloth (GoSun Sponsor branded) are provided. Please bring equipment you require for your recipes. Cutting Boards - by all means bring your own. GoSun will supply flat food safe cutting mats but you may want to bring a more substantial cutting board

Solar Cookers Supplied:

GoSun is supplying TWO solar cookers for use on the day; ONE for the main course + ONE for dessert. Contestants will be given a Solar Cooker to keep as part of entry fee.

About Solar Cooking:

We recommend keeping recipes fairly simple and able to comfortably fit within the "tubular" tray form using ingredients suitably prepped. Don't be intimidated! We know you can cook anything, anywhere and to help further we have great resources within GoSun Facebook Community Kitchen Group who have posted recipes, videos etc demonstrating the VERSATILITY and EASE of use cooking solar with GoSun. Keep it simple, creative and don't overload the tray to esnure you complete your dishes against the clock! Bake/Steam/Roast . . . the cooking method is more akin to what you might typically cook in an oven or stove-top. The cooking environment is VERY MOIST and not like grilling

About the "Sport" Solar Cooker

GoSun's solar cooker simply uses UV rays from the sun, traps the heat inside the glass tube ("like Pyrex") and cooks food held in the cooking tray reaching temperatures up to 550degreesF in optimum conditions. Cooking through clouds is possible. A hot day is not necessary - a sunny day is perfect.

This is a fun cooking device. We strongly recommend carefully reading the easy instructions inside your Sport solar cooker and practice your easy recipe - it should take around an hour or less in full sun conditions

About You:

Be true to your own style and challenge yourself to boldly transform a signature dish using solar!

Local media outlets wil be invited in addition to GoSun social media pre and post event PR. Entry by you and your restaurant gives permission to include you by name and photos/videos as willing participants. Copies or ccess to event PR will be made available to participants. A live event MC will circulate to briefly interact with chefs and communicate real-time observations and interviews with chefs. This is a fun cooking device. We strongly recommend carefully reading the easy instructions inssert included with the stove.
