Event Details

Hurricane Irma Benefit Concert featuring Blues Traveler's John Popper.  25 Years Ago, the Seminole Theatre was nearly wiped off the map from Hurricane Andrew.  It took 23 years for us to open our doors again.  We were spared by Hurricane Irma, but many of our friends in the Florida Keys, west coast of Florida and the Caribbean were not.  So we have teamed up with John Popper, Lorenzo Ford, and The Rotary Club of Homestead to create a benefit concert to help the Florida Keys recover. Proceeds from the concert and fundraiser will go to the Rotary Clubs of the lower keys and the United Way of the Florida Keys, where 100% of proceeds will go directly to those who need it.

So join us for a night of great music, for a great cause!

JOHN POPPER, the iconic, charismatic lead singer of Blues Traveler, the popular rock and jam band from the 1990's celebrating their 30th anniversary this fall, brings his harmonica and bandmate Ben Wilson, on piano, to share AN EVENING WITH BLUES TRAVELER'S JOHN POPPER - THE HITS. THE STORIES. THE EXPERIENCE.

Using his harmonica designed uniquely by Fender and his legendary voice, Popper entertains with an evening of classic Blues Traveler's tunes, "Run Around," "Hook," and "But Anyway," breaking down the hits and sharing the stories from his long and successful colorful career, from the formation of Blues Traveler, his relationship with H.O.R.D.E Festival, all the way to his involvement with the Grateful Dead.

Popper is widely considered a virtuoso, thought to be the greatest harmonica player in rock music. Formed in 1987, Blues Traveler has platinum and gold albums to their credit. Over their 30 year illustrious career, Popper has been the voice on more than 10 million albums and 2000 live shows in front of 30 million people. "Run-Around" is the longest-charting radio single in Billboard history and earned them a Grammy. A television favorite, they have been featured on Saturday Night Live, Austin City Limits and VH1's Behind the Music, and they hold the record for most appearances of any artist on The Late Show with David Letterman.

No topic is off limits when one of the greatest voices of a generation shares his behind the music stories, band exploits, hit songs and favorite covers. Imagine VH1 Storytellers meets MTV Unplugged!

Special Thanks to our generous sponsor, Lorenzo Ford,  The Fastest-Growing Ford Dealership in Miami and South Florida.  Lorenzo Ford has made this benefit concert possible with their sponsorship, so we all can better support victims of Hurricane Irma.

Lorenzo Ford is a family owned Ford Dealership in Miami Dade, located in Homestead just minutes away from Kendall, The Florida Keys, Pinecrest and South Miami, but many customers come to us from all over South Florida and even further. Why? Very simple. We can offer them the very best deals on a new Ford or a used vehicle from our large selection of most makes and models, from luxury to as inexpensive as $3000, priced thousands below retail.
