Hungerhill School - Year 6 Open Evening

Dear Year 6s,

I am so excited to invite you to our Year 6 Open Evening here at Hungerhill School!

I know Year 7 may seem like it’s a long way off but time flies and, soon, you’ll need to be thinking about which secondary school to choose after you leave your primary schools. It’s a really exciting time but it can also make you feel a little nervous about a bigger school and making new friends, (obviously to go with the ones you’ve already got)!

Here at Hungerhill we like to make everyone feel really welcome and support you in getting over some of those nerves that you’ll be feeling. We also like to show you what your subjects will be like, introduce you to our staff who will be here to help you along the way and give you a taster of some of the brilliant opportunities that Hungerhill has to offer!

There are so many things for you to come and see; our creative arts and technology departments are really exciting, or maybe try out our sports facilities; come and show off your music or drama skills; have some experimental fun in Science; or maybe display your abilities in Maths and English! Whatever you love to do, we’ll have some great opportunities for you.

We will also have our enrichment time which will be a time when you get to do a world of wonderful activities. These will all take place at lunchtime or at the end of the day and give you the opportunity to take part in activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Dance and Drama, Creative Arts, Sports and Competitions and much, much more. We’ll make sure you never get a chance to be bored!

We also like to meet all of our prospective students, to get to know you and to make sure that we help you make lots of friends before you even start at Hungerhill. We like to make sure that we know what you need help with and what you’re really brilliant at, so that we can get everything organised for you before next September.

I would love it if you could come and see all this for yourself at Hungerhill on our Year 6 Open Evening. The invite is for you and your parents and carers and the evening will take place on Thursday 9 October, 4.00-6.00pm. You can come to meet me so that I can tell you a little more about Hungerhill, at either 4.00 or 5.00pm and then, for the rest of the time, you can explore all the brilliant things on offer, meeting our wonderful staff and students.

I really hope that you can take some time out of your busy schedules to come and visit – I can’t wait to meet you all.

Families can choose from the following time slots; each slot is limited to 300 people, and you should allow approximately 45 minutes to one hour to visit all areas:

Session 1 - 4:00pm

Session 2 – 5:00pm

To ensure a safe environment, places are limited to three entrants per family. One student, one accompanying adult and one additional ticket per family. Should you foresee any issues with this please contact the school using the details below.
