"Everything a science film should be." - Lisa Randall, Harvard University

As one of the world’s most renowned scientists, two-time Nobel Prize winner Marie Skłodowska Curie is best known for pioneering the field of radioactivity — including early experiments to treat cancer with radium therapy — but few understand the obstacles she faced just to enter the laboratory.

What if she could tell her story?

Join STEM on Stage in collaboration with the Princeton Center for Complex Materials/PRISM for a digital theater presentation of HUMANITY NEEDS DREAMERS: A VISIT WITH MARIE CURIE on Wednesday, September 25th from 7:30pm - 9:00pm at the Bowen Hall Auditorium (Room 222).

Hosted by Daniel Steinberg, Director of Education and Outreach, PCCM/PRISM, the digital theater presentation is 45 minutes followed by a conversation with STEM on Stage co-founder & filmmaker Jen Myronuk plus invited guests.

Free with RSVP, recommended for adults & students ages 10 & older.

Doors open at 7:00pm and the event starts at 7:30pm.

As digital theater, HUMANITY NEEDS DREAMERS: A VISIT WITH MARIE CURIE invites audiences to meet Marie Curie as she recollects her quest to isolate two elements — polonium and radium. From her childhood in Poland to groundbreaking research in France, Marie Curie shares the struggles, failures and triumphs behind her scientific discoveries and remarkable collaboration with companion scientist & husband Pierre Curie.

Masterfully portrayed by living history scholar & former engineer Storysmith® Susan Marie Frontczak, HUMANITY NEEDS DREAMERS (45 mins) is the cinematic version of her acclaimed one-woman show. This unique format breaks the digital fourth wall between live theater and film, scholar and performer, past and present.

Humanity Needs Dreamers: A Visit With Marie Curie is part of an upcoming national digital speaking tour & public history initiative to promote conversations around science in our local communities. *We are seeking audience feedback about our program at this event*

Free with RSVP, recommended for adults & students ages 10 and older.
