Event description

Description

The Humane Society of Alamance County (HSAC) is bringing their annual Woofstock event to downtown Graham, NC on October 21st and 22nd. The two day event features dog shows, dog contests, training and handler demos, craft vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, and a raffle. The special guest this year is DockDogs, the world’s premier canine aquatics competition. All proceeds are to benefit HSAC.

This is the HSAC’s 20th Woofstock event, but a first for Graham. HSAC is excited to bring this dog-friendly, family-friendly event to Court Square. Farm Services, the local Purina store in Graham, is one of the sponsors of the event. The owner, Chuck Talley, said, “The Humane Society does so much to help Alamance county and they are a true advocate for our ever-growing pet population. We hope everyone will come out and see these amazing DockDogs jump and support this worthy cause.”

Live music bands include Junction 61, GypsyHeart, Back Porch Orchestra, and the Steve Martin Bluegrass Band. Special thanks to the following sponsors: Alamance Kennel Club, Inc., Blue Buffalo, Blue Ribbon Diner, Country Inn & Suites, Farm Services, Graham Area Business Association, Graham Cinema, Graham Soda Shop & Grill, McPherson Cleaners, Mike Shoffner State Farm, Pepsi, Pittman & Steele Attorneys and Counselors at Law, Plum Pucci Salon, The Acorn Inn, and Ultimate Canine Care.

Woofstock runs from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm on both October 21st and 22nd. Registration for DockDogs, which is open to beginners, begins at 8:00 am. For more information, contact Becca Chavis, event coordinator, at (336) 437-5643, or go to www.hsaconline.org/woofstock.
