“Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children”
by Frank Massolini, MA, Director of Salvation Army PROMISE Program
In 2006, The Salvation Army received a grant from the Department of Justice to develop a comprehensive curriculum on the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC). The curriculum was developed under the leadership of The Salvation Army and five partner organizations across the country. In 2007, the fist training institute was launched in Chicago by The Salvation Army PROMISE Program. Since its inception, PROMISE and the partner organizations have trained over 13,000 individuals who are in a capacity to serve youth.
The curriculum was designed for the first responders and includes specialized modules for social service providers, medical and mental healthcare providers, law enforcement and legal professionals.
We will be offering 4 of the 9 modules:
Module 1: What is the commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC)?
Module 2: Pathways and Precursors to CSEC
Module 3: Understanding the Impact
Module 4: Victim Identification and Engagement
