Description

Human Trafficking: Recognition and Response is an event for health care professionals.

Check-in starts at 12:30 pm in the Holland Hospital Conference Center. There is no cost for this event. We request donations of new, unopened hygiene products that will be donated to local organizations supporting survivors of human trafficking.

Presenters:

Dr. Jeremy Norwood is currently an Associate Professor and serves as Chair of the Department of Sociology, Global Studies, and Criminal Justice at Spring Arbor University. He is extremely involved in the movement to address human trafficking in the Jackson area and throughout Michigan, and has helped to train thousands of professionals from several fields per the requirements listed by the State of Michigan.

Dr. Joy Washburn is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Grand Valley State Univery, a Women's Health Nurse Practioner, and a member of HEAL Trafficking. Her expertise on the topic of human trafficking has resulted in multiple opportunities to present on the topic of human trafficking in order to educate health care providers in identifying and responding to potential victims.
