Event description
Want to learn how to identify and advocate for child victims of trafficking?

About this Event

Sex trafficking of children and youth is a growing concern nationally and in Arizona. Trafficking is a hidden crime and is both an urban and rural issue affecting areas across our state. Join VOICES and Program Director for TRUST (Training and Resources United to Stop Trafficking), Stacey Sutherland, in recognizing that the first step in combating trafficking is to identify victims so they can be recovered and help bring their perpetrators to justice. In this presentation, CASA volunteers will learn about the dynamics of sex trafficking, victim identification red flags, and risk factors. Stacey has extensive experience conducting human trafficking-related trainings across the country to multiple disciplines including medical, mental health, child welfare, victim services and law enforcement with her passion focusing on rural communities to build local capacity to serve victims of human trafficking.
