Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery that is a crime under international, federal and State of Michigan law. Michigan is #2 in cases of human trafficking. Michigan is taking a proactive approach to educating healthcare professionals by making it mandatory for you to learn about human trafficking and how you can help.

Objectives:
• Discuss what sex trafficking is and how it affects the community.
• Identify behavioral, physical and psychological characteristics, seen in both victims
of human trafficking and traffickers.
• Discuss how and why sex trafficking is prominent in all communities.
• Discuss reporting mechanisms and how to fight sex trafficking

1.5 Contact Hours for NURSING: This activity has been submitted to the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91) for approval to award contact hours, The Ohio Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurse Credentialing Center’s Commission of Accreditation.
