Event description

Description

The United Nations Association of Greater Detroit is pleased to partner with the Metro Detroit Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and the International Institute of Metro Detroit to host United Nations Day in Detroit!

Please join us as we commemorate the founding of the United Nations Charter (October 24, 1948) and the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (December 10, 1948).

Our theme this year is "Human Rights, Close to Home," and we will be talking about human rights in Detroit and our connection to the global community.

Our event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Parking at the International Institute will be first come, first served. However there will be metered street parking and a parking lot nearby on John R across from the Detroit Institute of Arts for about $8.

Visit our website for more information at www.unadetroit.org and email us at info@unadetroit.org with any questions.

We look forward to seeing you and your family at United Nations Day in the D!
