HF Improving Safety by better Communication
Human Factors (HF) is and part of every safety and compliance management programme.
This continuation course builds upon initial Human Factors (HF) training and includes regulatory and other recent changes. We focus on communication in general with a special attention to reporting. Why has voluntary reporting become a requirement and what are the main challenges? How can organisations overcome these and what can we learn from each other?
Learning Objectives and Expectations
In most organisations a voluntary reporting system faces many challenges, not in the least because of a deep-rooted distrust of bringing failures, mistakes or even small things into the open. Our habits are more likely to discuss things behind closed doors, rather than in the open. Learning objectives are to explain why reporting is required, what people as well as the organisation can do to overcome such challenges.
First, all people working in a Part 145 organisation who are required to have this training. Second, all people who work in a part 145 organisation who could benefit from this training. Lastly, all people who have an interest in Human Factors, or work in an ‘high-risk’ or highly regulated environment. Examples and cases will be adapted to your industry where possible.
