Event Details

Let's participate in a discussion that's thousands of years old -- what is human excellence, what are its qualities and how can these qualities be developed?  Do they differ for different people?  Character Strengths can include Integrity, Kindness, Curiosity, Leadership, Humor, and many others. We will explore techniques for developing them, identifying what our personal strengths are, and how to work with the best of ourselves. We will  examine different depictions of "virtues" or "character strengths" from traditional and modern psychology and see how they apply to enriching our lives.

This presentation and discussion follows up on the previous talk "Dialogue of Self and Soul." Participation in that workshop is not required.

Joseph Crane

Joseph Crane has a diverse background in Philosophy, Psychotherapy, Astrology, and Buddhist Meditation. He enjoys exploring the connections between classical and modern philosophical/ethical systems, and he uses those connections to help us find different ways to think about important life questions and problems.

In his latest book, Joseph was able to play with the the differences and similarities between classical, medieval, and modern views of God, ethics, and spiritual development.
