Event description

Description

Jennifer Pratt of adagio will offer an introduction to the process, tools, and mindsets of Human Centered Design (HCD). Jennifer and her team will support participants to let go of pre-conceptions regarding what “we know” and “have already done/tried in the past.” And, she will lead them through hands-on experiences with key tools and mindsets, including (but not limited to) Empathy, Creativity, Brainstorming, Listening, and Becoming an Anthropologist. Finally, Jennifer will facilitate reflection and dialogue (two additional tools) about the application of HCD to participants’ programs.

This workshop will:

  • Create a clear understanding of what HCD is, how it can be used, and what it takes to use it.
  • Offer partners the chance to explore HCD experientially.
  • Facilitate reflection and conversation among partners about how HCD builds on what they already know and do and how they might apply it to their IDA programs and within the IDA Initiative.

Scholarships are availlable! Please contact Stacey at sziegenhagel@neighborhoodpartnerships.org for more information.

Parking:

The space provides onsite parking free of charge for 64 cars, but we encourage carpooling when possible. Parking is accessed best from Chambers St. as well as 13th Avenue. Please do not park in spaces designated for church use only or in Looking Glass' lot.
