Event description

Description

The Hugh & Hazel Darling Law Library invites you to attend a book talk celebrating the release of Professor Ronald D. Rotunda’s latest book, John Marshall and the Cases that United the States of America (Beveridge’s Abridged Life of John Marshall) (Twelve Tables Press, January 2018).

A century ago Albert J. Beveridge published The Life of John Marshall in four volumes. In this new abridged edition, Professor Rotunda masterfully conveys the essence of this work, accessible for today's scholars. Readers are introduced to John Marshall’s early life, his appointment as the fourth Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, and his seminal opinions (such as Marbury v. Madison) that united the States of America.

Refreshments and a book signing will follow the talk.
