exhibition viewing: 10am-12pm
architect-led tours: 1pm and 3pm
openhousenewyork presents a special viewing and tours of Design(in) The New Heart of New York, an upcoming exhibition on Hudson Yards, the 26-acre mixed-use development of commercial, residential, and retail space that will completely reinvent the city’s West Side. The exhibition, the first public presentation of the project, will explore the planning, architecture, and engineering of this massive development, which includes projects by Diller Scofidio + Renfro; Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates; Rockwell Group; Skidmore, Owings & Merrill; and others.
As the single largest piece of undeveloped property in Manhattan, Hudson Yards will take years to build. This event is the first in a series that OHNY will organize to follow Hudson Yards over the course of its development, exploring the making of its buildings and public spaces from a multiplicity of points of view.
Admission is free for exhibition viewing and tours, but reservations are required.
Limited space available.
Design(in) The New Heart of New York is presented by the American Institute of Architects, Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group.
