Hub Berkeley Intro to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction: Monday January 23

Before enrolling in the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course which begins January 30, attend this free orientation to better understand what the 8-week program is all about.
In this information session, participants will learn how mindfulness meditation can:
- reduce stress
- alleviate anxiety
- diminish depression
- support well being
During the two and a half hour introductory session participants will:
- experience of the body scan as developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn
- practice eating meditation
- enjoy a video presentation of Bill Moyers' Healing from Within.
Augusta Hopkins will share her experience with mindfulness and describe the 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions.
The full 8-week MBSR course meets Monday evenings at Hub Berkeley
Jan 30th - March 19th
6:30pm - 9:00pm
Daylong session on Sunday March 11th from 10am-5pm
The course includes guided meditation mp3 files and Jon Kabat Zinn's book Full Catastrophe Living.

Augusta Hopkins of Mindfulness for Stress Reduction and Success
Augusta is an experienced, colorful, creative instructor, passionate about mindfulness practice. Engaged in movement and meditation since 1977. Practiced mindfulness and movement in Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and France. Co-founded SF Sangha.
Trained with leading MBSR instructor and author Dr. Bob Stahl. Mentored by and co-taught with Renee Burgard LCSW, senior Bay Area MBSR instructor for Apple, Google and Stanford.
Received lay ordination from Thich Nhat Hanh, her primary teacher, and is a lay member of the Order of Interbeing.
