HSA Presents "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" Artist Talk with Isis K...

Join us for an Artist Talk with Visual Artist Isis Kenney to will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Presented by Harlem School of Arts Visual Arts Department Emerging & Teaching Artists Exhibition, "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised: The Art of Isis Kenney, the exhibition features Isis Kenney’s powerful collage pieces, her work sparks intelligent conversations about politics, art and the HIP HOP Community in our newly renovated HSA Gallery. Curated by Jonathan Patton, Director of Visual Arts.
The exhibition will be on view through November 27, 2016 at the Harlem School of the Arts Gallery at 645 Saint Nicholas Avenue and is free and open to the public.
Born in Poughkeepsie, New York, Isis Kenney currently lives and works in New York City. Her mother and father, both educators and artists that cultivated her interest in the arts by providing art supplies and creative expression at an early age. After graduating from high school, Kenney attended Dutchess Community College and received a Degree in Visual Communications. It was while at Dutchess she discovered her interest in art and took her first art class.
In 2004, Isis moved to Brooklyn, New York, and studied at the School Of Visual Arts and than The City College Of New York. While at City College, Isis expanded her levels of art and started acting. Isis joined the Harlem Repertory Theater and was cast in several productions that empowered her to believe.
