Event Details

This isn't your average power couple.  Rather, Michael and Darla Guevremont both come from varied backgrounds, bringing unique and prestigious experience to their entrepreneurial venture, Executive Protection Systems (EPS).

Michael, Vice President of Operations, and Darla, Vice President of Business Development, will host a Howard Hoffman Distinguished Lecture Series on creating, building, and launching their own startup.  They will discuss the skills, connections, perspective, capital, and much more necessary to starting one's own business.

A complimentary food and beverage reception will be held at 4:00pm, 1 hour prior to the 5:00pm start of the lecture.

Michael has worked with the White House, U.S. Secret Service, and the U.S. Army Military Police/Quartermaster Corps, lending his communications and security skills, wherein he ultimately directed the logisitical upgrading of all White House continuity facilities.  Darla has worked with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Datalux Corporation, and counts over 20 years of sales and marketing experience.

As a 3-time honoree of Inc. Magazine's "Inc. 5,000"--an annual list of the fastest-growing, privately-held companies--EPS continues to pride itself on exceptional delivery and execution of turnkey solutions for safety and security needs.  EPS emphasizes security, communications, safety products, safety and security training, and services and consulting.  The EPS security team, for example, provides emergency notification and asset management, while services and consulting entail, among others, threat assessment and respiratory fit testing.  Their talent runs the gamut.

Not only does EPS delivery its services with presidential quality, but also focuses on social entrepreneurship.  Darla notes that EPS strives to "make a positive impact on society through our philanthropic work outside the relam of the day to day business."  Employees support non-profit organizations, philanthropic initiatives, and devote time to numerous volunteer projects.  Some of the charities supported by EPS include KIVA and the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Shenandoah Valley.
