Event description
Join Simon Harman & Typehuman to discuss why privacy has become a seminal issue, and what blockchain has to do with it?

About this Event

We're excited to host Simon Harman, CEO of the Loki Project to discuss the forces behind the recent push for privacy technologies & regulations, why web3 and blockchain is important to those innovating in privacy-tech, and what he and the Loki team are up to.

Simon and the Loki team have been building out a blockchain backed technology platform that aims to enable fully anonymous communications. They raised $9m in March 2018 in order to found Loki as Australia's first privacy focused not-for-profit. Since then they have been busy developing their technology, and recently launched their beta messaging apps to both iOS and Android users.

“Loki Messenger allows for truly decentralized, end to end, and private encrypted chats. Loki Messenger is built to handle both online and fully Asynchronous offline messages. Loki Messenger implements the Signal protocol for message encryption. Our Client interface is a fork of Signal Messenger. All communication that passes through Loki messenger is routed through Lokinet.”

SImon is a respected leader among the Australian blockchain community, and it's a real pleasure to have him join us to share his views and experiences.

The evening will be hosted at the Typehuman office, MC'd by Nick Byrne and be a "fireside chat" setting. Please join us for a rich conversation followed by snacks and drinks.
