Event description

Description

This 1 day course is for people who are interested in how interaction design and user research work in government.

You might be a product manager, delivery manager, analyst or technologist who wants to work more effectively with designers and researchers. Or you might be a generalist civil servant who wants to know about the basics of interaction design and user research.

If you have previously attended GDS design training, you should not attend this course.

We’ll cover:

  • introduction to the techniques we use to design government services that are as simple and inclusive as possible

  • fundamentals of user research and user centred design, including interaction design and content design

  • how design works on an agile team

And we’ll try out some paper prototyping.

This is the third time we are running this course, so if you sign up please be prepared to give feedback on the session.

Please note the GDS Academy is based in DWP's Fulham Jobcentre and registration is from 09:45 so that we can start promptly at 10:00.

There is no requirement to bring laptops.

The course is free to attend. Civil servants only.
