Dialogue can be the crux that makes a story work, while its absence or misuse can be the nail that seals its coffin. It is an essential part of every story, and one of every writer's most powerful tools. Don't get stuck trying to write awkward descriptive paragraphs, explaining your world like a textbook or trying to narrate a character’s complicated feelings. There's no better tool to give your fiction and nonfiction a unique new voice and grounded perspective than well-crafted dialogue. In this workshop, K.J. Russell will discuss why writers should embrace dialogue as their first and most reliable tool and how to use dialogue to introduce, magnify, and complete every aspect of a story. K.J. Russell believes that once a writer has a solid grip on dialogue, no story will be too difficult to achieve and every story can become a masterpiece.
