Antibodies are amongst the most commonly used reagents in scientific research particularly in biomedical studies. Understanding the immunochemistry of antibodies is challenging.

This talk, run over 2 hours, will cover many aspects of using antibodies in research including;

-antibody structure and function

-polyclonal vs monoclonal antibodies

-controls for experimental studies

-isotypes and Fc receptors

-probes and lectins


The talk is designed to help improve your understanding of the principles underlying the use of antibodies in research and is geared particularly towards Honours students and postgraduate students.
