Description

On Friday, March 8, 2019, the Pulitzer Center and Global Health NOW lead a workshop on tips and tools for engaging the news media. This special satellite session of the 10th Annual CUGH Conference brings together communication specialists and Pulitzer Center-supported global health journalists to educate workshop participants about the skills needed to pitch a story, translate to a lay audience, and make both traditional and nontraditional media work for them.

Speakers include:

Seema Yasmin, Emmy Award-winning journalist, author and medical doctor

Brian Simpson, Global Health Now editor-in-chief and editor of Hopkins Bloomberg Public Health Magazine

Sonia Shah, science journalist and award-winning author

Julie de Meulemeester, Pulitzer Center-McGill University reporting fellow and medical student

Moderator: Ann Peters, Pulitzer Center university and community outreach director

The workshop is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Registration for this CUGH satellite session is separate from registration for the CUGH conference.
