Description

Note: This free event is ticketed, and as of March 20, we are at capacity.

Join the Women's Center at the University of Minnesota for a live edition of How to Survive the End of the World, a podcast from the Brown sisters on learning from the apocalypse with grace, rigor and curiosity. The Brown sisters will focus the evening on abolition, from prisons to patriarchy, looking at what women's power means in the process of transforming society and rescuing our species. We invite attendees to bring books to donate to the Women’s Prison Book Project.

This event is hosted by the Women's Center in the Office for Equity and Diversity, and would not be possible without generous sponsorship from: Campus Climate Micro-Grant; Center for Leadership Education in Maternal and Child Public Health; Center for Community Engaged Learning; CFANS Office for Diversity and Inclusion; Communication Studies; Department of English; Gender and Sexuality Center for Queer and Trans Life; Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies; Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication; Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence; Multicultural Student Engagement; Race, Indigeneity, Gender, and Sexuality Studies; Rev. Dr. MLK Jr. & CLA President's Emerging Scholars Program; Robert J. Jones Urban Research and Outreach-Engagement Center; and TCF Bank.

This event will be held in the Coffman Theater. The building is wheelchair accessible and all gender restrooms are available.

To request a disability-related accommodation, contact the Women’s Center at women@umn.edu or 612-625-9837.
