Event Details

This Shorty Award web training will go through the Walgreen’s Check-in case – showing how to conceive, manage and execute a successful social media marketing campaign for a major retailer. Learn, from an executive from Walgreens, what it took to create a social web promotion that quadrupled page Likes, donated $6 Million in charity flu shots, and won three Shorty Industry Awards, plus a Best in Show recognition.

In this 45 minute discussion and training Adam Kmiec, team leader of Walgreens campaign, will kick off the discussion by spending 10-15 minutes talking about what went into creating "Walgreen’s Check-Ins that make a difference”. Through social media, Walgreens empowered their customers to donate flu shots to those in need. For every store check-in via Foursquare or Places, a flu shot was donated to a charitable organization, as voted by consumers from a list on campaign’s Facebook page.

In this training you will learn:

-How to create a social media campaign for retail that connects with local stores as much as it does onto social platforms.
-The best resources to use as a social marketer at a retailer.
-Tips and strategies for gaining recognition for the work you're doing.
-How to leverage social platforms to build better relationships with journalists and influencers that care about consumer retail marketing.
-And get insights into how to win a Shorty Award
