You will spend time in the class discussing pitching and how they take a case by case basis, so you are invited to submit an old pitch that has been unsuccessful, for optional discussion. Please send to masterclasses.support@theguardian.com one week prior to the course date.

Coco Khan is a columnist, feature writer and commissioning editor. Before arriving at The Guardian she was a freelancer for many years, and continues to work with magazine titles in the UK and US. She tweets @cocobyname.
