What will we do during the workshop?

You’ll explore what makes memoir writing meaningful, identify the memories that matter most, and use guided prompts to begin writing. You’ll leave with practical tools, inspiration, and your first story on paper.

Do I need to be a good writer?

Not at all. This isn’t about grammar or perfection—it’s about your voice, your memories, and your perspective. I’ll guide you  so you feel comfortable expressing yourself.

How is this different from a writing class?

It’s more personal and reflective. The focus is on your experiences and how to capture them, rather than technical writing skills. Many participants describe it as “part storytelling, part discovery, part healing.”

What do I need to bring / prepare?

Bring a notebook or journal (or open a document on your computer), something to write with, and an open heart and enthusiasm. You’ll receive printable writing prompts before the session.

Will the session be recorded?

To protect privacy and create a safe space, the group session is not recorded. However, you’ll receive a summary guide and writing prompts after the event.

What happens after the workshop?

You’ll have the opportunity to schedule a complimentary 20-minute “Story Starter Session” to explore your memoir project further. Many participants choose to continue working with me to turn their stories into a finished book and/or video.
