Description

How to Start & Lead a Community Garden - Level 1

Tarrant Area Food Bank's Community Garden program is happy to offer leadership training to those who are looking to start their own community garden project or revamp a project that has been losing steam.

Community Garden Coordinator Becca Knutson will walk through the steps involved in starting a garden project, organizing a garden committee and setting the groundwork for a successful project.

The Community Garden Leadership Training will cover the following topics:

  • The history and benefits of community gardens

  • How to organize your community of gardeners

  • How to identify your community's strengths

  • How to maintain your garden

  • And much more!

We will meet inside Ridglea Christian Church. Please park in the front of the church at 6720 W. Elizabeth Lane. and enter through the courtyard doors.

If you have a copy of Start a Community Food Garden by LaManda Joy - please bring it for reference.

We hope to see you at the event!
