Event description

Description

The Cuyahoga County Office of Reentry, in partnership with the Cleveland Public Library, The Securus Foundation, JumpStart, ECDI, Cleveland Neighborhood Progress, Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation and the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, is hosting a full-day small business workshop for returning citizens wanting to open or expand their business. The event aims to help individuals with criminal backgrounds overcome barriers created by their criminal records by providing them with the knowledge and expertise to jumpstart their entrepreneurial ideas.

The workshop will include strategic business planning, marketing strategy and development, financial literacy and an overview of legal requirements for starting a business. Trainings will be lead by the Economic Community Development Institute (ECDI) and JumpStart. ECDI is a statewide small business association lender that provides small business loans, ranging from $500 to $350,000, to low-income, low-wealth, and other disadvantaged people, and assists entrepreneurs by offering a range of entrepreneurial programs and services. JumpStart is a nationally recognized nonprofit that provides venture capital and intensive, high-impact assistance to diverse entrepreneurs and small business owners across the Greater Cleveland area.

If you have questions about this small business event for current or prospective business owners, please register or call (216) 698-3437. More information is also available on the Cuyahoga County Office of Reentry website at www.reentry.cuyahogacounty.us.
