About The Event

On March 2nd, Israeli Startups NYC is bringing some of the leading VCs in New York, to share their insights and tips on raising venture capital money for your startup. This panel is going to discuss when is the right time to approach a VC, what's the best way to do it, what are some of the challenges international entrepreneurs have when raising funds in the US and how can they overcome it!

Jessica Peltz-Zatulove - Partner at KBS Ventures

Jessica Peltz-Zatulove is a Partner at KBS Ventures, where she focuses on investments in early stage startups in digital media and marketing tech. Prior to joining KBS, she specialized connecting marketers with emerging technology and spent 10+ years working with Fortune 500 brands including Verizon Wireless, Kraft Foods, and H&M. At Evol8tion, she helped startups secure their first customers through brand partnerships, and as a VP at Zenith Media was recognized an industry pioneer in the mobile space; her cutting edge collaborations were often featured in Mashable, Adage, Mobile Marketer, and Mediapost. Jessica has a global footprint with strategic relationships at over 400+ startup organizations across 20+ countries. In addition to being featured on CNBC, Fox Business, and popular podcasts - she's been named one of "NYC's 100 Most Influential People in Tech”, “35 People in NYC Tech to Watch in 2016”, and a Rising Star by Global Corporate Venture. Jessica has a BA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, with a double concentration in Marketing and International Relations.

 

David Teten - Partner at ff Ventures

 

 

 

David Teten is a Partner with ff Venture Capital, one of the best performing seed- and early-stage venture capital firms in the U.S. Since 2008, ffVC has invested in over 90 companies and has helped to create companies with aggregate market value exceeding $4 billion. David has advised clients such as Goldman Sachs Special Situations Group, Icahn Enterprises, LLR Partners ($1.4b fund), Birch Hill Equity Partners (C$2B fund), and other institutional investors. He served or serves on the boards of Authorea, Ionic Security, Signup.com, Earnest Research, and Whisk (sold to Deem). He previously was a serial fintech entrepreneur. 

 

 

Aaron Dubin - VC at Innovation Endeavors 

Aaron Dubin works in New York City on the investment team at Innovation Endeavors, Google Chairman Eric Schmidt’s venture capital fund, where he leads the due diligence process for Israeli investments. Innovation Endeavors invests in startups using deep technology to solve the world’s biggest problems, and has invested in over 130 companies across Silicon Valley, New York, and Israel since its founding 6 years. Prior to joining Innovation Endeavors, Aaron worked at Pitango Venture Capital, Israel’s oldest and largest VC. Aaron earned his BA in Business Management from IDC Herzliya, Israel’s leading international business school, with specializations in Finance and Entrepreneurship. He is also a proud alumnus of two distinguished international entrepreneurship programs, the Pennsylvania Governor's School for Global Entrepreneurship at Lehigh University and the Zell Entrepreneurship Program at IDC Herzliya, where Aaron founded a technology startup in the field of geolocation-based file sharing.


Lluís Pedragosa - VC at Marker 

 


Lluis is a Principal and the Head of the Investment Team at Marker, a venture capital firm focused on technology investments in Israel and the U.S. Lluis sits on the Board of Directors of several Marker portfolio companies and has made investments in the areas of cyber security, marketing automation, media & entertainment, enterprise IT, ad tech and online video, among others. Before joining Marker in 2012, Lluis was a Vice President at Fredericks Michael & Co., a boutique investment bank where he advised clients in M&A transactions in the U.S., Latin America and Europe. Previously, he was a consultant at Roland Berger in their Barcelona and Madrid offices. Lluis holds a BS from Esade Business School in Spain, an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and an MA in International Studies from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania (awarded Caja Madrid Scholarship). Lluis is also the co-chairman of NYCVC (New York City Venture Capital), the central professional body for the New York venture capital community.
