Event description
Learn how to collect, clean and process seeds to save for next year!

About this Event

Join Master Gardeners as they conduct this hands on workshop to teach you how to get started with saving seeds.

  • Step 1 will take you through learning about how plants go to seed and when to collect seeds. Specific examples will be demonstrated so that you can identify the seed head--some obvious and some less so!
  • Step 2 will guide you through cleaning the seed head--removing the chaff and finding that seed and any other process used to separate out the seed .
  • Step 3 will discuss packaging and storage considerations

Participants should collect and bring seeds to clean and process from home, however, if you do not have any raw seeds some will be provided in order to complete the process (Please include an ID for your plant when you bring in seeds for processing).
