How to Prepare Your Work for Publication: A “How to” Workshop


Join us for a summertime workshop featuring members of our anthology team sharing their wisdom on how to prepare your work for publication, not only in the (a) river rising Anthology, but for any publication.

Learn or refresh your skills on the basics of editing, craft, style, copyright, and legal questions for submitting your work. This series will help you put your best foot forward, no matter where you submit. Key topics:

How to Write an Artist Statement, Writer Statement, Bio:

• What we're looking for in a statement about your work.
• How to use storytelling in your statement.
• How to write naturally and authentically.

How to Edit Your Work

• How can you put your best foot forward for publication?
• How to know what's your best work, and then, how to polish it so it shines most brightly
