Description

*Doors open at 6 pm for casual networking | Event formally commences at 6.15 pm*

Have you ever been for a job interview, perhaps been one of two shortlisted candidates, but then you've been pipped at the post? How about if you've put your hand up for a promotion at work only to see one of your colleagues successfully get the gig? Or maybe you've built up the courage to ask for that pay rise you feel you deserve only to have it turned down?

Chances are that one of the first thoughts to pop into your head is that even though you felt it was 'rightly yours', you were passed over because you are from overseas, "not Australian", you weren't educated here, you have an accent, or a plethora of other self-imposed career prejudices.

Whilst you may assume you know why you weren't offered the job, promotion or pay rise, more often than not you are wrong ... perhaps it makes you feel better than to have to accept the fact that someone else was more deserving at the time.

Self-imposed career prejudices (in other words personal excuses based on your place of birth, accent, skin tone etc) are a guaranteed roadblock to furthering your career.

In a career spanning over 25 years, our speaker has interviewed close to 10,000 people across many countries. He has also personally managed over 200 staff. In this highly interactive seminar, you will hear many stories of individuals successfully forging ahead in their careers despite these so-called limiting factors.

You will learn:

  • How to display confidence and the right attitude at every step along your career path

  • How to stand out from the crowd regardless of where you come from

  • How to understand the unspoken word or uncover the hidden agenda of anyone sitting opposite you

  • How to stop the self-fulfilling prophecy around career prejudice once and for all
