Gene Alessandrini is Regional Vice President for PJM, MISO, Southeast and ERCOT for Brookfield Renewable’s U.S. business, leading asset management, trading, origination, and regulatory affairs and policy.
Mr. Alessandrini, who joined Brookfield Renewable in 2018, has more than 20 years of energy industry experience with diverse retail and wholesale energy expertise. Prior to Brookfield Renewable, he held several leadership roles at PPL Corporation and Exelon Generation Co., including overseeing trading, origination and market analytics.
Mr. Alessandrini holds an MBA from the University of Delaware and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University.
Regional Vice President, New York & West
Marco Talamo is Regional Vice President for New York & West markets for Brookfield Renewable’s U.S. business, managing all commercial initiatives including trading, origination, business development, asset optimization, regulatory affairs and state policy.
Mr. Talamo joined Brookfield in 2018, bringing 20-plus years of experience in the energy industry. He spent the majority of his career prior to Brookfield Renewable with Morgan Stanley in Commodities Sales & Trading, where he held commercial management and trading roles focused on power markets.
Mr. Talamo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance/Business Administration from the Binghamton University School of Management.
Regional Vice President, New England
Ben Vallieres is Regional Vice President for New England, managing commercial operations, including asset optimization, trading, origination, business development, regulatory affairs and policy.
Mr. Vallieres, who joined Brookfield Renewable in 2018, has more than 20 years of trading and leadership experience in the industry. Previously he held senior trading and management positions with energy companies and financial institutions, including Credit-Suisse, BP, and PG&E Energy Trading. He also worked in commercial development at Hydro-Québec.
Mr. Vallieres holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Université du Québec and pursued a Master in Finance degree from Laval University.
