Jeff Alt, family outdoor guru, author of the award-winning book, Get Your Kids Hiking: How to Start Them Young and Keep it Fun, and the new children’s National Park book series, The Adventures of Bubba Jones, shares how to turn a trip to the woods into a fun-filled, multi-dimensional adventure. Learn how a few simple techniques and some basic equipment can turn any walk in the woods into a safe, fun-filled adventure that children of all ages will enjoy.

Jeff Alt is an avid outdoor enthusiast who has been conducting family hiking programs in the National Parks and around the country for many years. He has walked the Appalachian Trail, the John Muir Trail with his wife, and he carried his 21-month old daughter across Ireland, accompanied by extended family. His son was on the Appalachian Trail at 6 weeks of age. Jeff Alt’s books include, The Adventures of Bubba Jones, a National Park children’s book series, Four Boots-One Journey (John Muir Trail), Get Your Kids Hiking, and A Walk for Sunshine (Appalachian Trail). His books have received high praise from readers and educators all over the world. Jeff has spent over a decade perfecting his ability to engage kids of all ages and grades to learn as a school based speech language pathologist. How long is the presentation?
The presentation will be about 2 hours.
May I bring my own snacks and beverages?
Yes, you may! We will also have cups for water, tea, and coffee.
I may be a few minutes late…is that okay?
The presentation will start promptly at 6:00 PM. However, if you are late, we just ask that you be courteous to the other participants as you enter.
What is the next class for the hiker, paddler, and traveler?
