Enjoy an afternoon of inspiration, invaluable tips and Base Camp beer.

Join Pacific Crest Trail thru-hiker and Only The Essential producer Colin Arisman as he shares lessons learned first hand from his 2668 mile, 5 month journey on the trail. Whether you are planning a day hike or a 2668 mile thru-hike, Arisman will introduce the basics necessary to have a safe and meaningful experience on the Pacific Crest Trail. Winter is the ideal time to prepare for your adventure on the trail this summer. Presentation will include a 5 minute sneak peek of Only The Essential and Q&A. $8 suggested donation.

  • Description: In the summer of 2013 Casey Gannon and Colin Arisman thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail with cameras in hand. Only The Essential is the story of their 5 month, 2668 mile journey on foot from Mexico to Canada across the wilderness of California, Oregon, and Washington. 

The Pacific Crest Trail

The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) spans 2,668 miles as it traverses the mountainous spine of California, Oregon and Washington. It typically takes thru-hikers around five months to hike the entire trail. If you aren't up for the whole thing, don't worry - the trail is easily accessible to all hikers. More info at
