How to Have a Holly Jolly Christmas
Overview
Topic & Speaker: The holidays can be a time of joy, celebration, and family fun! For many adopted/foster children and parents, it can also bring up difficult emotions, stress, and behavior problems.
In this workshop, Sarah will help parents understand why some children may struggle with the holidays, despite expectations that they "should" be enjoying themselves.
We will explore common emotional and behavioral challenges that adopted and foster children face during the holidays, such as, grief and loss, attachment struggles, sensory overload, and unrealistic expectations.
By the end of the workshop, you will have gained a better understanding of the unique needs of your kids during the holidays and leave with practical ways to support them and yourself.
