Small Group Live Video PR & Storytelling Workshop - Max. 6 Participants

You know you have a great story to tell about your business, brand, social enterprise, startup or that book you've written, but you're not sure how to get the word out. You appreciate the value of being featured in newspapers, magazines, online, on the radio or on TV, but you're not clear on how to identify the most newsworthy aspect of your business, or how to get noticed by editors, journalists or producers. You love the idea of getting some publicity for what you do, but you'd like to own this yourself, rather than outsource it to an agency. The trouble is, the media seems a bit of a minefield.

This workshop will help.

In this small group workshop, delivered via live, interactive video, widely published journalist, PR coach and consultant Katherine Baldwin will help each of the six participants to:

- Identify the most newsworthy aspect of their business, brand, social enterprise or story

- Locate the best media outlets to pitch to, so their story has the biggest impact

- Craft a compelling email pitch or skeleton story that they can send off to the media, use on their websites or in social media marketing

- Understand how to find the contact details of journalists, editors and producers so that they can send tailored and personalised email enquiries to the media

- Learn how, when and what to pitch to the media to increase their chances of being featured

Whether you'd like to appear in national or regional newspapers or magazines, in print or online, on prominent blogging sites, or on the radio or TV, experienced journalist, Katherine will give you the guidance, skills and confidence to craft an eye-catching story, identify the right medium for your message, approach journalists and get your business or brand out into the world in a way that creates maximum impact.

Katherine is a former member of the Downing Street press corps and a former Reuters and Bloomberg correspondent. As a freelance journalist, she has successfully placed stories with The Guardian, The Sunday Times, The Daily Mail, Red, Psychologies and The Huffington Post and appeared on Newsnight, Sky News, ITV breakfast television and BBC Radio. She uses her journalism and storytelling skills, credibility, contacts and industry knowledge to help individuals, businesses and charities get great coverage.

Media coverage is a fantastic way to raise brand awareness, boost credibility with clients or investors, reach out to new customers, increase sales, position yourself as an expert in your industry, promote an event or launch a book. However, too many businesses waste time and resources putting out press releases that pass journalists by or publishing website content that fails to connect with the public.

This workshop will give you practical, actionable advice to help you craft a message that will catch a reporter's eye, spark public interest and create a buzz around your business. Previous participants have found it a worthwhile investment in their businesses.

This is a workshop so expect to do some work. Each participant will receive Katherine's individual attention, feedback and coaching plus there will be time for group learning and valuable feedback from other attendees, who could all be potential clients. Depending on your unique business needs, you'll go away with a shortlist of target media and some example email pitches that will be ready to send off, or the know-how to get your blogs featured on prominent sites like The Huffington Post or sites relevant to your industry. You'll hear why the era of the press release is over and why today it's all about your story.
