Is something missing in your writing? Do you get a nagging feeling that you should add a word or delete an idea, and then end up more confused? If you're tired of making your changes in a vacuum and want another pair of eyes on your work, as well as the opportunity to discover and become empowered by your writerly strengths and weaknesses in the midst of a nourishing community, this is the workshop for you. Whether you're working on a series of poems, a short story, a memoir, or a novel, we will help you learn to see what's missing in your pages, as well as what can be omitted. With careful attention to your work, expert guidance, and hands-on writing exercises specifically designed to stretch your writing muscles, we will help you strengthen your current project and train you to be your own editor. Your red pen will become your best friend, and you’ll learn to wield it with confidence. This will be an active class with time for you to put the lessons we’re learning into practice, as well as receive ample feedback and one-on-one guidance on the revision process. Please bring your current writing project, whether it’s a one-page poem or a 300-page novel, or anything in between.
