Event description

Description

We’re all content publishers now. That’s an awful lot of noise.

Whether you’re promoting your team’s work to an unknown international audience via Twitter, positioning yourself as an authority on LinkedIn, or wanting to build your brand from the ground up, the content you choose to share is just as important as that which you decide to create if you’re any chance of cutting through all the noise and reaching your desired audience.

Luckily, the skills required to both curate and create content really well and effectively are covered in this highly practical one-day workshop.

You’ll leave the course with a clear understanding of what content actually is and how to create and curate effective stories across a variety of platforms using numerous formats. You’ll also receive a resources pack full of useful tools and routes to further learning.

Sessions will include:

- What is content? The purpose and principles of storytelling.

- Tone of voice: why it’s absolutely critical and how to find yours

- How to curate: finding, choosing, repackaging.

- How to create: formats, angles, copywriting.

The ticket price includes a buffet lunch, and tea and coffee.

Who it’s for:
Anyone who find themselves having to create or post content as part of their job, or who wishes to in order to promote their own brand or enhance their professional reputation. You might be a junior content marketing person or senior editorial director responsible for a team of content producers. You don’t need to be from an editorial, content, marketing or design background.

Tutors:
Simone Baird is a co-found of Clever Boxer. She has a background in magazine, working as features editor at Time Out London, and also worked at The List, The Face and Jockey Slut. Simone was Head of Guardian Masterclasses from 2012-2014, growing the new business significantly as well as launching it in Australia and as a corporate training offering.

Alan Rutter is a co-founder of Clever Boxer. He has a background in magazines, working in senior print and digital roles at Time Out, WIRED, GQ, Vanity Fair and Vogue. He has delivered training in data visualisation to clients including including the Financial Conduct Authority, the Home Office, Novarties, Capita Consulting, and the Democracy Institute in Washington DC – as well as working with startup entrepreneurs through General Assembly.

FAQs:

How big will the class be?

The maximum number of attendees will be 18, which is comfortable for the room size and ideal for a mix of group, individual and whole class exercises.

Do I need to bring a laptop?

There’s no need to bring a laptop, unless you want to use it to take notes. The principles and techniques that this course covers are applicable to any type of tools (from pen and paper, through Microsoft Office, to more sophisticated software).

I need to get a bit more information on the course before I buy a ticket, is that okay?

Of course! Get in touch with us on the links below or at info@cleverboxer.com, and we can either respond to your questions by email or arrange a call.
