Event description
Come learn how to connect with your neighbors to create a resilient neighborhood group. Share your experiences, successes and hurdles!

About this Event

FIRST SESSION at 10:30AM

SECOND SESSION AT 2:30pm

Neighbors knowing neighbors leads to . . . cups of sugar being borrowed.

But it's also how lives are saved in a disaster. Your community is the true first responder in a large-scale emergency. You may be the one who can save that neighbor next door. Or they may be the one to rescue you.

Come learn how to create a group that's better prepared in a disaster, or to get a "fizzled" group going again. Dave Peattie, president of the Berkeley Disaster Prep Neighborhood Network, will lead a discussion on how to connect with your neighbors. Come share your hurdles and successes if you've worked to form a neighborhood group, or come and ask questions if you want to try to start one.

If your group is well under way and you want share your secrets of success, or if you want to learn how to connect with other groups near you, come share and learn how we're working to make that happen in Berkeley.
