Product-market fit for the next phase of your career.

About this event

Career Design Bootcamp:

Our Career Design Bootcamp naturally sprung from The Colony itself: namely, how to identify, sustain, and grow high-value work amidst a hyper networked, socially dynamic, and rapidly accelerating world.  Career Design is the product-market fit for the next phase of your career. We help you understand work and search trends, tools and best practices. We help you understand yourself, your opportunities, your industry, and what a meaningful career looks like.  And then we discuss how to take that vision to market.

Who Should Attend:

This strategic workshop is designed for mid and executive level leaders (Director level and above) who want to envision and build proactive, entrepreneurial careers and career searches. Participants are typically polymaths, pushing the limits of their current roles or looking to make a major move such as Chief Product Officer to CEO, Head of  Design planning to break the “design ceiling”, VP Tech/CTO looking to join an enterprise atter working at startups (or vicev versa), Media executives looking to join tech-native companies, leaders looking to find board positions, change markets, company types or industries.

Please note that this is an intense two days. It is designed for entrepreneurial leaders with a strong point of view about their fields, strengths, and futures.   Our intention is to deliver empowerment, insight, unique learning, and a roadmap for leaders looking to make an impact. Pease don't sign up to take a spot unless you are serious about your career and willing to work hard to take your career to the next level. If you're not sure it's for you, reach out to us at contact@opencolony.com.

Bootcamp Curriculum:

We will discuss the current and future state of work, executive search, career search, networks, interviews, and career paths, along with how the dynamics shift based on level, domain, company type, location, and industry. We will share the right tools, trends, best practices and strategies.

We'll discuss how to assess  and position yourself. We will discuss how to develop a powerful career vision, prototype, and brand.  We will discuss how to take a professional brand to market,. We will go into detail on how to craft your brand including crafting of a mission statement, core career stories,  and a strategy for your resume, LinkedIn profile, website, portfolio, Github, Medium, and other applicable platforms. We will discuss designing and testing of career prototypes and growth roadmaps by assessing your passions, core competencies, and history of applied experiences. We will discuss how to tap and diversity your network, how to assess a company match based on values and ways of working and how to co-create an existing open role or one that hasn’t been approved yet.

Who Is Teaching?

Bootcamp is taught personally by Open Colony founder, Caitlin Pulleyblank along with 1-3 Colony partners with expertise in attendee fields.  Caitlin Pulleyblank leads the OC Team and Network. Caitlin founded Open Colony 15 years ago with the idea to hack executive recruitment while growing a radical consultancy equally committed to the “How and Why” of work. Caitlin understands how the value systems of diverse constituencies inside companies, along with industry forces, create opportunities for meaningful invention, innovation, and growth. She builds personal connections and business partnerships, matching demand with expertise for individuals and companies alike. Caitlin has worked for or with the most dynamic companies and leaders  in the world. Her job is to harness the combined expertise of the Colony, a home and work services platform for innovative experts globally.
