DeepLearning.AI, in partnership with Omdena, has assembled a panel of machine learning practitioners who have gotten into the field from different paths. They will be sharing their personal experience and suggestions on how to build your own AI project portfolio.

About The Speakers:

Anna Koroleva, is a computational linguist/NLP Data Scientist. She completed a Ph.D. in Natural Language Processing and has 9 years of research and industrial experience in NLP. Her professional interests include Biomedical NLP, Conversational AI and AI for Good. She regularly participates in Omdena AI for Good challenges as a Machine Learning Engineer.

Mohamed Amr, joined Omdena in 2020 to build an ethical credit scoring system for low-income individuals. Then in 2021 I founded the Omdena Egypt local chapter. Currently, I am a Machine Learning Engineer at DigsFact a US-based startup that helps P&C insurers and property renovation companies with estimating property claims and renovation projects remotely, simply using photos that have been processed by AI.

Kennedy Wangari, is an award-winning Data Scientist, and Developer Advocate. He is building equitable and empowered AI technology communities, and a talent pipeline in Africa that’s inclusive, and equipped with the right tools, and knowledge to ethically build and deploy AI systems that will benefit everyone. He is the catalyst that brings your brand, stakeholders, data, technology and decisions together to build and deliver better data products, and create delightful customer experiences, resulting in accelerated💰 growth 📈 and impact. He has previously worked at the United Nations Environment Programme, NVIDIA and Xetova to deliver high-impact data products and services –from strategy consulting to end-to-end project implementation across the marketing, supply chain, finance and environment fields.

Rosana de Oliveira Gomes, is a Senior Data Scientist in the energy sector. She transitioned to industry after a long career on academic research in Astrophysics. In her free time, she volunteers as a machine learning engineer and project manager in AI for good initiatives, working both with startups and NGOs in projects related to sustainability, among other topics. Rosana is also an advocate of inclusion in tech, mentoring women and minorities into tech careers. She has founded the AI Wonder Girls team, which is an award-winning all-female team of data scientists who get engaged in hackathons and other projects about social impact.
