Darrell will focus on how he broke into product, walking through his career and some of the lessons that he learned on the road to becoming a Product Manager at Uber.

Early career:
- Launched a whiskey barrel furniture company that failed
- Built a supply chain allocation tool to enable a complicated NAND flash memory ramp
- Moved to Uber as first Dedicated Ops Lead

Joining UberPOOL:
- Experience as an Ops Lead on early stage UberPOOL
- Learned SQL, differentiated himself due to ability to analyze and synthesize complicated problems with a customer focus
- Early tests he ran, lessons he learned about Product Development and how to contribute

Redesigning the driver app:
- How he joined team to re-design app
- Overview of project and launch
- Transitioning to Product Manager

Meet the Speaker: Darrell Stone

Darrell is the Product Manager for Uber's Driver Platform Team, where he was one of the lead Product Managers for the recently announced driver app re-design. Prior to that, he wore a variety of hats on the UberPOOL Team, starting as the First Dedicated Ops in 2014 and eventually working on the Product Leadership Team to test early concepts and scale UberPOOL to 30+ markets. Prior to his time at Uber, he was a Global Supply Manager at Apple and a Management Consultant at Deloitte.

Darrell lives in Sunnyvale with his wife and one year old daughter, and enjoys cooking, photography, podcasts and historical biographies.
