Event description
Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement is delivering significant benefits and opportunities to the Australian agribusiness sector.

About this Event

Since its’ launch in 2015, the Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement (JAEPA) is delivering significant benefits and opportunities to Australian farmers and agricultural producers.

Many Aussie farmers and producers find that their supply is greater than what our nation can consume. The recent round of tariff cuts under JAEPA provides more opportunity for you to grow your business overseas, and take advantage of the demand in international markets.

Japan is a huge market for Australians as the second-largest agricultural export market, worth $4.9 billion in 2017-2018.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland in conjunction with the Queensland Japan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, invite you to our upcoming training seminar that will educate the agribusiness sector on understanding how to derive the maximum benefits from JAEPA and get a competitive advantage when exporting overseas.

You will hear from a range of expert presenters on:

  • Their experiences in exporting to Japan – the good and the bad!
  • Learn key aspects to developing a successful market entry strategy
  • The fundamentals of doing business in Japan (cultural learnings)
  • JAEPA Certificate of Origin requirements
  • Case Study Frosty Boy: Their first hand experience with Japan - What didn't work

Australia is the first significant agricultural producer to have a meaningful trade agreement with Japan, so don’t miss this opportunity to unlock the door to new markets.

Presenters:

  • Kenneth Bennett – Managing Consultant & Principal | ExportOne Consulting
  • Chris Whitecross, President | Queensland Japan Chamber of Commerce & Industry
  • Diana Gueorguieva – Manager International Trade | CCIQ
