Event description

Description

Your readers trust you. They read and share your posts, buy products on your recommendation, change their diet according to what you've shared, and may even vote on certain issues because of what you've told them. Misinformation spreads fast on the internet. What you write today, could end up on several different blogs tomorrow. So you have an enormous responsibility to write accurately and fairly about important, life-changing topics.

How do you know that you're not posting minsinformation or even lies on your blog?

Alden Wicker is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the leading sustainable fashion and travel site EcoCult, President of Ethical Writers & Creatives, plus is a freelance journalist with bylines in Newsweek, Fast Company, Inc. Magazine, Racked, Refinery29 and more.

In the Ethical Writers & Creatives' next online workshop, Alden will teach you:
  • The difference between facts and opinions
  • The fact checking process that legacy media use
  • The fact checking process that she uses on her own blog
  • The commonly accepted process for citing facts in digital media
  • Finding reliable sources that can be trusted
  • Weeding out untrustworthy sources
  • The difference between a primary and secondary (or tertiary...) source and why it matters
  • What to do if you can't verify a fact
  • What to do if a reader questions the veracity of your work
  • Facts that Alden has personally gotten wrong and how she fixed them
  • And all your questions answered!

Can't make it to the live workshop? Go ahead and sign up -- every person who RSVPs will receive a recording of the workshop afterward!
