PURPOSE
Physicians must be knowledgeable regarding how to avoid being reported to the Medical Board. They must also understand the Medical Board's role and responsibilities for physician oversight; including, reviewing and investigating complaints, issuing sanctions, and imposing disciplinary action when a physician violates licensure and statutory regulations. This program will provide physicians with information on the types of complaints and issues that most frequently prompt the Medical Board to send a letter of inquiry and investigation to a physician. The session will include 805.8 mandatory reporting requirements and discuss the appropriate process to follow when responding to a letter from the Medical Board.
~
OBJECTIVES
